2011 was a dramatic shift from the music blow-out of 2010. Eminem started to die down a bit, Lady Gaga started a massive surge in popularity, Katy Perry matched Michael Jackson's record for most number ones from one album, and then the fourth quarter brought us a whole new playlist to hold us over for 2012. I'm not going to say that it was the worst year in music because it wasn't, there were still many songs I considered to be the best of the year, but only 40 made the final cut.
